AN INTRODUCTION:

Ninelives the cat is from Australia, originally. Though now he lives in London and has done for the past 3 years. His favourite pastime back home was playing in all kinds of bands on all kinds of instruments, in all kinds of weather and in all kinds of moods. Though later down the track a little taste of Beat Traffiking saw the focus move to production in a major way and all new kinds of doors began opening. Then one day Cut La Roc found em and one bird flew to NYC and the other bird flew to the UK and a whole new moment was born. NineLives writes music and writes down many words in no particular order. maybe sometimes he will arrange them into lyrical format. maybe sometimes he sings them or emcees them. NineLives is one more magic moment amongst a lifetime of millions and the rest. NineLives is always wondering...... are we dead yet?

THE MUSIC:

Ninelives the cat writes all kinds of music. There have been no boundaries and his explorations through sound have seen productions influenced by many genres from hiphop to punk, downtemp and chill, electro, rock, house, reggae, classical, funk and breaks. Since living in the UK Ninelives has had a handful of highly successful releases push through on the freshest of breakbeat labels this side of the planet. Bouncin Off The Walls on West Records which included a massive remix from Tom Real and The Rogue Element saw this first release receive awesome reviews and feedback from all corners of the breaks scene. SureShock which was just released last month through Vlads own Sokolov Sounds and also recieved much high praise and with a Diverted remix on the flip feat NineLives elastic vocal styles the record was def set to explode. Other projects and collaborations include the likes of Peo De Pitte @ Flatout Records, and vocal colabs for Missill, Rennie Pilgrem and Madox. Theres also some boots out there somewhere :-/

THE ALBUM:

Ninelives the cat has been working alongside Ruff Dog Recordings boss Rob Reng over the last half year and together have just completed the debut album "Are We Dead Yet? A mish mash of styles this NineLives archive is set for release around July! Though before the full release drops there will be dancefloor remixes of the single "Dogfood" by the likes of Santos and the Hoxton Whores. check the boombox on this page for a sneaky sampler of some album tracks.

THE SHOWS:

Ninelives the cat since living in the UK has played, The End for Chew The FAT!, C64 free parties, Trafik for Get Busy, No Skool Breaks, White Rhino down in Brighton, and has emceed at Fabric for Breakspoll w/ Steelzawheelz and Myagi, Cargo w/ Diverted boys, Seone Club w/ Rennie Pilgrem and at Neighbourhood w/ Cut La Roc amongst a string of others. Also NineLives is in the process of formulating his own live act which will be up and running off the back of the album release. NineLives also features on drums, keys and a mic for the Diverted LIVE show. Just recently he has also had support and radio slots on Annie Nightingales breaks show Radio 1, NSB radio and Ibreaks.
